Ruth Keggin

Ruth Keggin is a Manx Gaelic singer who is passionate about bringing Manx music and language to a wider audience. Her debut solo album, Sheear ('Westward') was released in February 2014 to critical acclaim. Her second solo album will be released in summer 2016.

Ruth and her band have given live performances and interviews on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio Wales and BBC Alba (television), and Ruth has also been a feature-presenter for, and sung on, the BBC 2 television programme 'Coast'. As a qualified music teacher (QTS), Ruth has delivered lectures about the music, culture and language of the Island to University students in places as far away as Hungary, and performed with her band in venues such as the British Museum and at festivals like Celtic Connections and the Festival Interceltique de Lorient. Her vocals feature in 'Come to your senses' – the Visit Isle of Man film advert for 2016.

Ruth is available for performances, teaching (workshops tutoring), lectures and music session work.
