We shall not cease from our exploration. And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time.

Artreach Studios at the Isle Gallery are currently hosting the much anticipated new solo exhibition 'Dare the Moon' by Artist Bruno Cavellec. The exhibition is a deeply personal exhibition for Bruno unlike any other before it.

Even though I often draw inspiration from my life experience, never have I followed my true nature as much as I have done with Dare the Moon.

Under the influence of music, I met the boy who used to escape to the moon and reconnected with an ancient place I thought had vanished... Closer to the moon, I found myself again and began to compose the images that would embody the man and artist I am today.

Dare the Moon at The Isle Gallery A series of paintings from the Dare the Moon exhibition currently on at the Isle Gallery

The opening on the 17th June was a great success where the public, friends and fellow members of the artistic community gathered together to view the new collection as well as chat to the artist.

THANK YOU so much to all of you who by their presence, appreciation, support and love have made the opening of DARE THE MOON a special moment. I feel very fortunate to have such great friends and supporters who keep reminding me that I am not on my own on this journey, something I sometimes forget when I lock myself in the studio for months.

The exhibition broadly explores themes from 19th century art and literature which Bruno states as significantly influential to the project.

A lifelong fascination with German Romantic painter, Caspar David Friedrich and the Brontës is broadly explored, contributing to the mood and sense of infinite longing.

The exhibition showcases many beautiful pieces in a range of media that centres around the motif of the moon and the magical feeling it inspires through human eyes.

The general tone is darker, the time is the end of the day when all things go quiet and silence surrounds us.

The exhibition will be running until the 29th July and the gallery opens 2-5.30pm Tuesday-Sunday.

From thoughtful introspection to quiet meditation, ‘Dare the Moon’ displays an authentic soul of its own...

Throughout this new body of work, nature is, more than ever, the physical and spiritual context in which man comes to understand his place in the universe.
