Douglas Poetry Trail 2018 now open for entries.

Isle of Man Poetry Society, in conjunction with ManxLitfest, which this year runs from 25th to 30th September, has launched the 2018 Douglas Poetry Trail. Entries are invited for inclusion in the Trail, which will take the form of 15 Poems printed on posters and displayed at Venues around Douglas Town Centre from 17th September to 15th October.

Last year’s Trail again generated a lot of interest from Poets of all ages, from 12 years old to 80, making it a challenge for the judges to choose just 15 poems for the Trail which will feature on specially designed posters at a range of town Centre Venues, promoted in the Litfest brochure and special booklets, the latter available from the Venues and the Douglas Henry Bloom Noble Library.

- Bethany de Legh-Runciman, Chairman of Isle of Man Poetry Society.

Each of the 15 winners will get to keep the poster featuring their poem once ManxLitfest is over, and the winning poems will be published in the Society’s magazine.

There is no theme. We welcome poems that entertain, inspire, or provoke a response. The poems must be suitable for public display and be an asset to ManxLitfest and literature in the Island.

To submit an entry, Poets need to send their work in their work to the Isle of Man Poetry Society Office at 10 Derwent Drive, Onchan, IM3 2DG, with an entry form, together with £3.50 per poem. The entry form can be downloaded here or at Isle of Man Poetry Society’s Facebook page or email Bethany at: poetry@manxcat.org.uk, or you can pick up an entry form at the Henry Bloom Noble Library in Douglas. Entry Forms with payment must be received before 1st July 2018.
