Every Wednesday at 5:30pm, the arts take centre stage in Spotlight, Manx Radio’s arts programme, sponsored by the Isle of Man Arts Council. It’s a show for the adventurous, exploring all aspects of creativity on (and occasionally off) the Island. Now available as a weekly podcast, Spotlight lifts the lid on the creative process, going behind the scenes of local productions one week and sitting with painters at their easels the next.
Is there something creative you’ve always wanted to know more about? Or do you want to share what you do with our international audience? Email Spotlight@manxradio.com to take part.
A visual arts graduate from Ramsey, Sarah has presented and produced Spotlight since it began in early 2017. Growing up in a musical family meant that music and performance were always a big part of everyday life. Sarah left home for Atlantic College in South Wales at the age of 16, the first United World College where around 400 students from nearly 100 countries live, study and volunteer together with the aim of promoting global awareness and international understanding.
Sarah went on to study applied arts at university and upon graduation, spent many years working with wearable art for local and international shows (including the World of WearableArt in New Zealand with the kind help of the Arts Council). She now channels her love of Culture and the arts into her work as Manx Radio’s Programming and Content Producer.
