Amanda Quellin

Amanda Quellin has been a professional Scenic Artist and Designer for over 30 years running her own company ‘Artifex’ providing large scale theatrical sets and art work for museums, television, theatre and film both in the U.K. and internationally. Amongst her clients were: Film 4, BBC, Granada Television, Yorkshire Television,The Museum of Science and Industry and Opera North alongside numerous entertainment and hospitality venues.
Her company created the Museum of Science and Industries largest grossing exhibition, creating an accurate Cretaceous environment for ‘Animatronic Dinosaurs.’
She has worked internationally designing for La Tasca’s chain of 70 restaurants in the U.K. and USA and has created murals for venues in Europe.
In 1995 she was selected as ‘Expedition Artist’ with the charity Raleigh International, working on arts projects across Zimbabwe.
After taking time off from her business to spend with her son, she began work in education and teaching and writing children’s books. In 2019 she decided to embark on a Masters in Children’s Book Illustration course at the University of Central Lancashire, for which she was awarded a distinction. Her first two books are being published later this year.
Alongside writing and illustrating children’s books Amanda has also been involved painting a number of public arts projects and was selected as one of Wild in Art’s artist’s to work on sculptures in Manchester, Newcastle and Nottingham in 2020.
