Chloe Shimmin

Hello! I’m Chloe.

Stories are at the heart of everything I do. We can all connect through stories, finding out more about ourselves and each other in the process.

I am an experienced writer, actor and theatre-maker, who specialises in participatory work with and for young people. My practice exists across theatre, spoken-word, storytelling, live music, audio trails and workshops.

At the core of my work is giving young people autonomy; listening and responding to their innate creativity. My writing responds directly to the community and young people that I am working with.

I am deeply engaged in the collaborative process and I am fascinated by what performance for young people looks like when made by young people. I give young people the power to choose.

I am co-founder and Artistic Director of Children’s Theatre company Hello Little People, where I regularly write and produce outstanding work. (hellolittlepeople.com)
