Hey there, I’m Laurence McPhee, an elusive 39-year-old artist hailing from the mystical Isle of Man. Since childhood, I've been captivated by the world of art from the moment I picked up my first black crayon, I knew I was destined for a life filled with creativity and mischief.
My journey through the vibrant world of art has been nothing short of an adventure. From my early days studying Fine Art at Portsmouth University to my current escapades pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, I’ve navigated through a chaotic mind of creativity in a kaleidoscope of colours and ideas. Most graphic designers lack the ability to add their own illustrations to their designs. This is where my Fine Art and image creation add to my graphic designs, creating more complete imagery.

My love for art knows no bounds, and I draw inspiration from a diverse array of sources, ranging from fine artists such as Lucian Freud and Marc Quinn to pulsating beats of contemporary digital graphics such as James White who I would love to collaborate with one day.  As an illustrator and painter, I strive to capture life's essence with each brushstroke, infusing my work with emotion and vitality. 

Now, as I delve deeper into the realm of digital illustration, I'm constantly pushing the boundaries of my creativity, exploring new techniques and approaches to storytelling and character creation in my art. In my portraits, I try to conjure life’s essences onto the canvas with a sprinkle of subtle humor and a dash of darkness. I somehow find an inner darkness in the subject of my portraits, which happens naturally.

In Laurence McPhee's world, art is not just a passion - it's a lifelong journey of self-expression and exploration. As my artistic peers largely gave up their careers, I have continued to develop my art throughout my life and I'm thrilled to share it with you.
