Sue King
Sue King is a Manx-born artist and author who takes inspiration from her Island surroundings and quirky elements of Manx history. Her distinctive contemporary artwork captures the vivid colours of the Manx sea, sky and land in a variety of media, and sells as original artworks, limited-edition prints and stationery items. She is also an established writer over four decades with a passion for social history. In recent years she's published a number of minutely-researched local history books on subjects ranging from weaving to Victorian circus. As a self-confessed foodie her latest work, published in 2025, has been her most enjoyable yet – an exploration of food eaten outside the home on the Isle of Man over the last two hundred years. Sue is also an experienced public speaker and enjoys giving illustrated talks on her books to local community groups.
